Hallowed be these concepts which free men from pain! Hallowed be these concepts which generate within the being of man the buoyant feeling of divine love which in actuality permeates the universe!
Children of the Most High God, there is no power in evil that can endure, but for a time the power men give to wrong concepts often holds them in the gall of bitterness and the bondage of mortal illusion. Their thoughts and their feelings, when muddled by what appear to be conflicting concepts of a religious or even a secular nature, are manipulated by random and malignant forces in order to prevent them from achieving the glorious freedom and purity of consciousness which God desires to impart to all men.
As long as mankind are satisfied to put their attention upon mere mortal sensation, they will not understand the true meaning of love which is the nature of God. It cannot be denied, blessed ones, that the octaves of light do manifest steps in the spiraling stairway of vibratory action, rising from the point of man's present stature through the ascended level and thence to infinite and transcendental God-experiences which are designed to raise the aspirant gradually to that place where his being becomes all light.
The process of the ascension itself is begun in the heart of the earth where the Son of man dwelleth for "three days and three nights," preparing for his emergence into the solar resurrection radiance. A little shoot, that has not yet peeped its head from the heart of the warm earth and achieved its flowering, embodies as much of the divine principle in an embryonic state as that which manifests in the highest heavens.
The God flame that is the hope of every man, whether recognized by him or not, dwells within the heart, the feeling world, and the Divine Mind of every man, woman, and child. Whereas the fullness of its expression has not yet been made,
It is there, unafraid of mortal density -
A cosmic prayer bent on holy intensity,
A flame of gratitude within the soul,
Longing to see each man achieve his goal
And find his freedom to be made whole:
"I AM the light of the world."
It is no mere human sentimentality that prompts us to say, beloved ones, we are not wedded in concept to mortal expectancy, seeking gain from those who love us as brothers of the divine flame. We understand love as God understands it, for to our eyes, both inward and without, have been revealed the hidden destiny and plans that for every man hold these gentle gifts of freedom, liberty, law, love, purity, righteousness, happiness, and God-success.
If there be any virtue in the universe, then it belongs unto thee, for God has created all things for his beloved creation, and as the Infinite Father he imparts ever-new opportunity to the seeker for truth.
In my warnings sounded to mankind of old, I have continually said, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing. ... Not every one who saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. ... In the last days there shall come forth false prophets, deceiving and being deceived. If possible, these shall deceive the very elect."
Precious ones, first of all, let it be understood with thanksgiving unto God that divine love is not a mere sentimental feeling expressed toward people which can be and often is generated within the mind of man, even as power is generated within a power plant and distributed across the land. There is a power of human love and a power of divine love. There exists a concept of that which is right unto man and this is that which seemeth to be right, and of which the end thereof, precious ones, are the ways of death. To "discern the spirits" the heart and being of man must be tethered to Divine Truth and climb the transcendent ladder of light into the higher octaves, measuring his progress by God's own laws and not by those which are man-made.
"Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God," and thus flesh and blood must be transmuted and changed "in the twinkling of an eye" when the last trump of your victory shall sound, because you have perceived the need to overcome and attain your own personal victory. Planetary victory and the victory of our endeavor in the world of form occurs by reason of loyalty to the Brotherhood, to spiritual ideals, and even to faith in the servants of God whom we have chosen and who have chosen us.
It is not enough for men merely to read our laws or to sense our love; the practice of that love, because it holds the attention upon God, must be a cohesive force that will bind together the threads that compose the garment of his outer self in the world of form. You cannot know the meaning of real love until you have experienced it. Love for the outer self, blessed ones, or the simple generation of a warm feeling for someone, is not necessarily divine love, for the sentiment and the wish to be loved can produce unfortunate attachments that one day will be found to be totally lacking in real meaning. While I have taught "Love ye one another, as I have loved you," men have not emphasized enough the qualification of their love with the compassion of the Christ - with the love that is broad enough to overlook and forgive the shortcomings of others and especially of those who are sincerely trying to do the will of our Father.
My love spans the centuries and the flight of the immortal soul. It is beyond person and place, condition or thing. My love is love for truth, and in our Brotherhood each master of wisdom expresses that wholly harmonious love that is always in agreement with itself.
