Ascension Day Address, Eleventh Anniversary 1984

     Beloved hearts who aspire to love, I am with you in this hour of your overcoming. And by necessity, I, in the ascended octave, can provide you with the strength and the light to lighten your way.

     The path of the ascension is not to be feared but indeed to be revered as one of striving and carefulness, one of absorption in the all-consuming presence of Love.

     Moving from a plane of duality and time and space into eternity does become a lonely path for the one so engaged, though surrounded by many. Yet, the individual who is taking on the mantle of God understands that that very mantle, by its presence, must perforce separate him from those around him.

     You will understand, therefore, that the final stairway to heaven is mounted alone. And the great comfort that waits and that which must be left behind leaves a certain vacuum that is often difficult to comprehend. And when contemplated or anticipated, many go back and seek again the warmth of home and companions. Having so done on many occasions, one comes to the resolve that for the very sake of these, one's friends, one must go on, one must open the door.

     It is in the very vision of your own ascent and the knowledge that I must climb before you that I am where I am, I am what I am. And yet, I am eternally with you and in you and of you.

     Blessed ones, I am blessed as a father and brother and friend to have many who are a part of me whose goal is the final ascent in this life. Scarcely another father on earth may look upon his children - his very own and then the many who espouse his flame - and hold for each one the certain knowledge of a destiny that is a flame, a torch in its holder waiting to be lifted out and seized. The torch burns on but it becomes physical when the one comes to the altar and takes it to the heart and now becomes the runner in a mighty marathon of the ages.

     Blessed ones, you can understand how very important it is to me, to our Father, to the age, and to your souls that each one fulfill every detail of life. For the contribution to culture, to community, and to civilization must be unmistakable.

     My consciousness is in the gentle feet, the strong feet, the delicate shape - placing that foot in the earth and thereby imprinting the sign of God. Therefore, it is with great cherishment that I behold your souls and your love.

     And it is my great desire that you should understand that the humanness of the experience of parting and living - the disappointments, the setbacks and the victories that become a part of the feelings and thoughts of life are well known to all of us in the ascended octave. We have not left these behind to become nonfeeling beings without temperature or warmth or the ability to identify with the sorrows yet present in the earth or that may yet lurk in your hearts. We have not become gods in the sense of stone figures, but much more - those who feel and understand all that each one must pass through.

     And while we were yet in this octave, our beings were spiritual as are your own, and the depths of our feelings were the range, also, of spiritual octaves. Therefore, you can understand that existence as life is not so very different but ongoing.

     Some of our chelas have no understanding whatsoever of what it is to be an ascended master. I must say that you could contemplate the very best of yourself - the parts you like best and know are truest - and imagine these fulfilled in the highest sense and expanded. And then perhaps you would realize a little portion of that limitless being, a certain sense of expansiveness and nonlimitation, a certain weightlessness and yet not altogether so; for we have a sense of the body and the form that we wear, just as you do.

     Putting all these things together, you can imagine that the universe should be peopled with individuals that have left behind the limitations, the vices, and the senses so limited in this octave. You can appreciate, therefore, how life would be in an etheric civilization: very concrete, very real, and yet not hard as concrete but far more defined than the matter and the maya.

     You can understand the personality of God, such as Maitreya or the Great Divine Director, who has retained identity and passed through many ages - ages of gold and ages of darkness. Understanding how that God-personality is formed by experience and by service, you can expect to meet, as you would call them, professionals in the fields of cosmic service - well defined, of a certainty and a humbleness, of a vision and a majesty.

     These qualities would be the quintessence and the point of self-transcendence of anyone you know. Take the most precious qualities of one you love and realize the extent of these full-blown, formed and in alignment with the Universal One, and you can begin to see with the immaculate eye how our friends and companions might appear as ascended beings.

     You ought to visualize yourself in this highest sense and realize that the lesser manifestations will all pass; the frustrations and tensions of life are not there. After all, you yourself do know what is real within and you know when your expressions stray from that inner Presence. Though others may assign to you foibles and sins as though they were carved in stone forever, you know these are not real. And you do know what is true about yourself.

     God knows even better what is true, beloved hearts. For, you see, in all of your perceptions of self, sometimes you include in the image of the real that which we do not, that which will truly be transformed almost beyond recognition in the hour of your resurrection.

     Thus, beloved ones, do not consider yourselves so far from immortality or the immortals, for in so doing we are closed out from everyday experience. We would almost rather have you fancy our presence when it is not always there than to assume empirically that we are not but rather gathered in some far-off mountain or in a retreat or in an elysian field.

     The angels and co-workers of our bands and the unascended saints are very close, especially when the atmosphere of the aura bears a similitude to the sun itself - a joy and a radiance, a purpose.

     Just as you do not like to stay in places of discord or the noise and the din and the cheapening images and vibrations found in modern entertainment, so we must also withdraw when those preoccupy space and time and consciousness. But this is not so often for yourselves. And often when you do make a study of those situations, we are present, using your own four lower bodies to experience in a more earthly sense the impact of those things that ought not to be in this octave.

     When you retain a practical awareness of life and its problems, this can be more easily communicated to many levels of our service and our servants by our contact with yourselves. When you place emphasis of importance on certain conditions, it also draws attention from the hierarchies of light. And therefore, you might say that in darkness you are the light of our eyes and our senses. And therefore, we perceive as you perceive and find very valuable your own Christ awareness that sheds light in the octave of your dwelling, even as we shed light in the octave of our abode.

     Now these octaves may be portrayed as one above the other, like wooden men carved and piled high one upon the other, or as a spiral staircase. But these images serve to indicate an acceleration of vibration rather than a distance in time and space. The only distance you will find between heaven and hell is in the very fact that we prefer not to cohabitate with the lower vibrations and therefore define our slice of infinity far removed from the depths of darkness.

     And yet, it is true that the consciousness of God is anywhere where the point of the Christ mind will focalize it. Heaven can be in hell when a son of God is there. But unless the chalice and the vessel be present, you understand, the free will of the occupants determines the vibrational level. And thus, it seems in the Matter universe that there has come about a compartmentalization.

     As our saints move up the physical mountain, we also tend to focus our retreats there. Thus, in an aura of noncontamination we are free to exalt the Godhead without the counteracting influences.

     I speak to each and every heart, to my blessed, to each one. I encourage you to keep striving and to become all that you are. The flower that you offer on the altar of God as the gift of this life can come, in full bloom, with multiple petals and manifestations of the octaves according to free will. No final destiny seals or limits your expression of the Godhead. You can be that of God which you desire to be, free of the impositions of others' ideas of what you ought to be.

     Let each one, in becoming God, recognize the freedom of all others to do so. And while we are on that subject, let us also give the freedom to my own four children to be who they are as they desire to be.

     The mission that is theirs is the mission they choose, not one we impose. And therefore, if they must live in a glass cage of expectancy by all others, they will flee the cage and fly to another abode where they may be free to live according to their own inner heart's delight.

     Thus I, as well as their mother, would prefer, with our family, to be friends and companions rather than those you set aside as something so special as to become untouchable. In this mode, the lesser self of anyone should rise to criticism or jealousy or idolatry. For it is truly not possible for anyone to entertain the thought that someone who is there side by side, yet in human form, might be something apart or special.

     Thus, beloved hearts, it is our desire as one, as we seek to climb together the highest mountain with you, to be a family, to be friends and brothers and sisters as we are all chelas on the Path. I am ascended and yet I am still a chela walking the pathway of the mighty bodhisattvas and the Buddhas.

     I believe that idolatry within the community or the movements of the ascended masters has in past activities caused schism and the downfall and eventual crumbling of the structure. It was true, beloved ones, in decades gone by in organizations sponsored by Saint Germain or El Morya or Kuthumi, that various individuals became as figureheads, seen as special or as having more power, more light, more spirituality. The more they were set apart, the more they played the part.

     And thus, though they might have made themselves kings,1 others rushed forward as kingmakers. And therefore, the individual himself did not have fair opportunity to realize his potential almost anonymously as the monk in the robe would do, but was so required to perform that, without the natural unfoldment of the spiritual soul, the ego would come to the rescue of the soul and therefore perform and do its dance.

     I can tell you that this day the strength of these activities has greatly waned. Some do not even exist any longer because of a personality cult. This is something that has been least prevalent in our organization, for none of us desire it.

     And yet, here and there, in departments or teaching centers or segments of the earth, there will always be those who will follow one. And the one, unless he be strong, allows himself to be placed in a position of false responsibility. And therefore, these episodes must always come to naught and the foundations be rebuilt. All that is built upon the foundation of idolatry and the dependency on a single person or individual one day must come therefore to the ground.

     Building upon the Rock of Christ who is the chief cor-nerstone2 of every one, each one's Christ Self becomes the dependable one who endures, whose presence is felt even when the individual must pass through trial and karma and periods of blindness or searching, periods of finding and supreme exaltation.

     And when you see the exaltation of the Light, you realize that then, too, the individual is also vulnerable. For there are periods of aloneness in the wilderness when all must stand back and allow that one to be alone and yet be carefully ready to support that one when that one must come down the mountain or be as Buddha, so weak as to need the physical food. Jesus also required that food after the ordeal of the crucifixion, taking fish and honeycomb.3

     Realizing, therefore, and understanding through one's own personal experience what each disciple is going through, one may have the sensitivity to respect the aloneness or to know that that aloneness must be supported by a divine friendship and a very personal love that meets the need of the hour.

     Now, if you have a perception of any disciple or apostle or a friend or brother or child as being a god, you will tend to think that that one has no human needs or frailties. Therefore, when that one exhibits needs or frailties or the necessity of learning some lesson you long ago learned by experience, then it will cause a setback in your own path. For the one upon whom you placed such confidence and trust may appear weak in a moment or an hour of crucifixion.

     But if you have eyes to see and perceive the reality of the inner self and the soul integrating with that self, you will always be able to bear with your children, all children of our school, the hours when they seem most lost and gone astray. You will not think them fallen ones in those hours, nor will you acclaim them as avatars when they show the brightness of their own integrity.

     Children are not meant to withstand such extremes of divisiveness in their hearts. They know that they are neither avatars nor devils, but somewhere in between - a soul that longs to be free and has come to this community for understanding and teaching and one day to give what he is able to give.

     Let us come to a realistic appraisal that practically none should embody without karma. Those who do are such a rare exception that it is not necessary to make a provision for them, for they themselves will function quite nicely without even having the perception that they may be almost karma-free.

     When you think about the burden of karma and the natural cycles of the growing up of the child, you will realize that it is indeed difficult to pass from the ages of ten to twelve to fourteen and sixteen in these hours when karma must descend. For if it did not, beloved ones, it would be a tremendous shock at the age of eighteen or twenty or twenty-five.

     Thus, it is necessary that while yet in the formative years, the soul and the child grow into a sense of identity that is indeed pigmented by karma itself. Thus, the God-personality puts on the Christ-personality; and the soul-personality puts on both of these, and when it is set it integrates fully with the psychology of previous incarnations.

     That psychology may be a burden at any turn in life, whether at the age of forty or sixty, whether at sixteen or twenty-three. Suddenly the descent of another incarnation's worth of karma can set an individual off in another direction, a profession, a sudden bout with illness or calamity, new interests, even divorces. These things must be understood.

     And while the soul groans and travails to give birth to that identity, let all be supportive. It is not necessary for you to be the judge. For I promise you that if you call to me, and if there is truly darkness or evil that has penetrated the community, I will disclose it so clearly as to eliminate the necessity of any type of investigation or pursuit of the private eye.

     Therefore, in the bonds of love and service and for the exercise of your own heart, it is well to deal with each one as a tender flower. And remember that those who appear on the surface as having the toughest skin may often have the most sensitive hearts.

     Thus, into this community of love and understanding shall many be drawn who truly do need understanding. There are many who are sick who need healing, but I have not sent them; for I desire a professional stance from the career son and daughter of God - a point not only of noncondemnation, but the point of positive warmth and giving and welcome.

     I would like to dedicate this year of my victory to my own Guru, El Morya, who heads the Order of the Good Samaritans.4 I would like you to think of Camelot and the Inner Retreat as a hospice - a place where the weary traveler may come and find a welcome and food and warmth and shelter, where the needs of the man, and the human, might be seen as paramount, as all know how the human problem can weigh so heavy that it must find surcease before the spiritual teaching can begin. But it already has begun the moment you extend love, for this is the essence of your heart and your path.

     You will always find that the ascending ones nearer and nearer the goal seem to enter into a life of doing for others often little things seemingly insignificant. And even the recipients of such gifts and graces sometimes wonder, but in each such gesture there is a transmission of love. This increases the capacity of the heart of the giver but also brings great solace and comfort to those who receive, even though they may not perceive it.

     For I tell you, beloved hearts, in many the hungers, the pain and the crying is so great that the hurt of all of this is sealed away in some dark corner of the subconscious. And the individual who is striving and determined puts all that aside and goes forth to battle, seeking what he, too, may give to life.

     Thus, when the healer comes with the great comfort flame and with love as a mother's heart, when these individuals who have set aside their self-concerns and burdens begin to feel that comfort and they begin to feel the ability to rest and be at ease, for a time perhaps the entire record of the hurt may surface. And then it is that the healing love is most efficacious in transmutation.

     In the presence of love, those most self-sufficient may let go and release the burdens, not fearing the opinions of their peers, not fearing to be judged or to be thought any less than the model role that they are pursuing and determining to externalize merely because they, too, may have had some difficulty, some problem, some experience that seems to be less than what the model chela or disciple would have.

     Therefore, as the strength of each individual is pursued and builded upon, and as that one becomes strong in service, there are cycles also when all that is beneath will pass through the violet flame because of the presence of the Comforter in any one of you and in all of you.

     Once you are determined to be [to fulfill the office of] that loving Comforter to each and every one, you will begin to be amazed as to how much you can help, how many problems you can heal, how much of a past record can go into the flame - a knot of some past lifetime, a situation that has created almost scar tissue. Your presence, your voice, your comfort, your love, your companionship can dissolve it in a moment. And you will watch how that one will take flight and soar, barely realizing that such a record has been taken and perhaps not even knowing just how much the ruby-ray love of your heart has been a part of the alchemy of release.

     Many in the world today do need release. It is possible to transmute the bulk of records of the past, but there will remain, as the hard rock that does not wear away so easily, a point of sorrow or of grief that may not be uncovered but once in a century. And that once-in-a-century is such a trauma for the individual that it is sealed again. But as long as those records remain, beloved hearts, the individual soul cannot rise to the fullness of the divine expression. And therefore, the self-limiting points rest deep in the subconscious and are best melted by Love.

     Love as the divine friendship in every human relationship always transcends idolatry or karmic situations where there is an almost automatic dislike or bristling in the presence of another. This is only revealed as a sign that great imploring of the Godhead is needed, and love and violet flame must be invoked. It is like a pain in the body or a sore that erupts on the skin; it is but a sign of something deeper.

     And therefore, be more mature than to identify with that one thing about another that is so irksome and so very different from oneself. But only realize that it would not be irksome if there were not something yet lurking in your own subconscious that is either offended or hurt or burdened or resentful. And the leading to oneself of that very situation is the teacher Maitreya in action.

     Beloved hearts of living flame, I desire that all should know that I have loved thee with such a love and a sweetness. I desire all to know this by your own expression of love to one another and especially to the stranger. For those who are not even on the path of the final stairway to heaven or approaching the last door, life is lonely and life is cold. You should know what it is like not to have family or friends or community and to be beset by the weight of karma and also to be a lightbearer.

     You should know, therefore, that this is a haven, not only for those in embodiment, but for angels and unascended souls of the etheric octave who are serving so very close to this earth in order to balance karma and because they have such a fervor. So many patriots, freedom-fighters, those who have espoused causes who have passed from the screen of life and who themselves have not finished the task at hand keep right on serving, gravitate toward those who are doing the very same work they did, and work side by side, almost as a shadow, an etheric alter-manifestation of co-workers.

     And you can understand whence you derive strength in hours of fatigue to carry on and do what is necessary at that moment. For many forces combine, and you will understand how powerful is love to those lightbearers who go on, not having known this circle or community or the Brotherhood, and who real-ize just how much more is to be done or what they might have done had they known. Just at that moment when they can become a part of your service, it is indeed a vicarious atonement - a vicarious at-one-ment - as with you and through you they can continue that service.

     Thus, when you are prompted to enter into the spreading of the Word or the teaching or the publishing of the facts at hand and the dangers in America or Europe or any nation, you can realize that many who no longer have a body, yet whose dharma it is to do this task, are with you and loving you and assisting you. And as they have reached a certain level of etheric manifestation and attainment, they are able by a new dispensation to be more a part of our unascended chelas. Thus, great forces are moving together.

     And where you see any son of light spearheading a cause, I say: Help him, encourage him, and offer that cup of light - not neglecting the cup of cold water, the food, the refreshment, and the care. Providing physical needs is an essential part of the experience of love. Therefore, beloved hearts, recognize that when your bodies and minds have needs, these are supplied in the truest sense of love that need not be a descending spiral but one that uplifts and exalts and comforts by the eternal covenant of compassion.

     The covenant of compassion is the key to victory. When you call for my mantle of victory in this year, O beloved, remember that it is won by the covenant of compassion. Those toward whom you are compassionate can be victorious because they know that you love them.

     Love someone today. Love someone each day with the kind of love for which the soul is yearning. For the world will offer its loves, but the soul remains hungry and weary and crying - crying out for the tenderness that understands it and does not merely take care of the creature comforts. When you give a meal or when you give physical aid, it is received in joy because the spirit that flows with it reaches the soul, and the soul is at peace and no longer under the strain of world distress.

     I am grateful that you have listened to our speaker during this conference - a son after my own heart.5 For I would have you realize that such causes as are fundamental to liberty must be fought and won by those who band together as one and make the victory in such a cause a life's calling and occupation. I am certain that you recognize fully that if the right to own private property, including the right to use that property as one sees fit (barring any obstructive uses contrary to the commonweal and the community at hand), is lost, it is the loss of America and the flame of America.

     This nation cannot endure when the individual loses that point of integrity and self-determination. And therefore, realize that it is a deadly infiltration stopping growth, expansion, and the abundant life but, above all, destroying the base of the soul to prosper, to mount the path of initiation, and to do so by his own ingenuity, creativity, and free will. In most of these situations, those attacked are weak and alone, not able to summon the force of the many.

     I would remind you, in the very aura and presence of Hiawatha,6 that All Your Strength Is in Your Union. Do not allow anything from beneath, from the Left or the Right, to divide your hearts who are so true in love. For your union is the Union of America.

     And many saints who have gone before to bring this whole wide world to this moment of victory are counting on you to put all pettiness aside, to forbear, to control the tongue and the emotions and the aggressions of the mind that formulate fantasy about this or that one, or the penetration of gossip and all manner of evil speaking against any part of this body ascended or unascended. For the maligning of Saint Germain or El Morya is also directed to divide this body of the faithful.

     Your union is the solid rock and foundation through which the Brotherhood may restore freedom in the truest sense, the individual sense of liberty - full liberty, the full pursuit of happiness as each one defines that God-happiness: the ownership of land, the right to build and rear the family according to the highest available information and education, according to the heart and the inner knowledge thereof.

     Each life and family in America becomes a laboratory and a proving ground. Those who do not do well become examples of wrong choices. As tragic as these may be, they themselves must learn from their mistakes, and all around ought to benefit thereby.

     Have you read in this morning's paper the story of this man who shot fifty-seven rounds into that school yard, killing that child, injuring others?7 Do you know the tragedy, beloved hearts? The tragedy is that almost every day for three years this man was seen by his neighbors, shooting his guns at planes going by to Los Angeles airport. They did not report him. The family avers that they warned the police, called them, asked for help - that he was a human time bomb, a tragedy waiting to happen. And drugs were a major part of this tragedy, also.

     Here is a neighborhood of people who do not have a great deal in life, and yet the fundamental principles of community were absent. They feared to report him lest evil should come upon them. And so it did.

     Beloved hearts, it is such an example of wrong choices, wrong values, wrong education. A society should rise up and understand its failures when people can allow the insane to go unchecked, when those who wear the badge of the police force feel no accountability or responsibility for being their brother's keepers, and when neighbors next door fail utterly to bear witness or to offer help.

     Thus, the father and the mother who cry out, "Why is our daughter dead?" must realize that the entire neighborhood is accountable. When they stay in their houses and watch television and eat junk food and expect that the school should take care of their children and the police should take care of the depraved and someone else should take care of this, all they can do when calamity comes is become angry that someone didn't do something. And yet, they are that "someone."

     You can see the great need for the Good Samaritan, for the teaching of individual self-worth, self-esteem, and the recognition of danger, the understanding of when an individual is a menace in his neighborhood. How he could come to his window or his balcony each day and shoot at the passing planes with all the people saying, "Yes, we heard the gunfire, we heard it"!

     How can these things be in a sane civilization? Modern life? Yet, these people - they do not eat the food you eat, they do not understand nutrition. They do not understand that their food is stripped of all that was placed there by nature to keep them sane and healthy and strong of mind and in their nervous systems, able to make strong decisions, to take a stand and to be fearless. No one has taught them of the vow of the knights of Camelot, that each one must defend justice and bind those who become a threat to the commonweal.

     To preserve America, we must preserve the integrity of our neighborhoods. This begins with love. But love can also be a chastening rod. Love must be the power of the Holy Spirit to exorcise the demon or else exorcise the individual. Millions of dollars are spent in this nation for the care of the insane. But this individual now has become a statistic and so has the child - dead.

     These things are not mysteries. The term mystery is truly applied to the unfoldment of Truth in the heart of the individual who finds God. But causes and effects set in motion by human beings can be studied and known and corrected. It is no mystery why this happened: there was no Good Samaritan in the neighborhood.

     The child will have a service in the Baptist church, but where was the preacher for the one most in need? What can he offer in death that he failed to offer in life? - personal care, shepherding, understanding, concern.

     It has been demonstrated a thousand times ten thousand times and more that citizens who determine to take action for right can be heard, can be seen, can get results. When the legislative process bogs down, when the bureaucracy ties you up in red tape, there is the free expression of individuals who act as one.

     When you have many acting as one, it is called an army. The one who founded the Salvation Army acted by direction from the chief of the Order of the Good Samaritans. And this group of individuals is respected where many are not. Where many purvey doctrine instead of charity, they are criticized.

     People of all faiths give to the Salvation Army, for it is understood that they care without discrimination for all people. This is an army of soldiers of Christ and Buddha, defending not only principles but people who have been violated. It is not only principles that are violated; but people themselves - who embody principles or who do not - are marred. They are scarred and violated, and therefore we must defend both the person and the principle with love.

     Love is carved sharper than a two-edged sword by the career, in any direction, of the servant-son. You may be a builder, you may be a doctor, a lawyer, a nurse, a clerk - you may be a fixer of anything. Whatever your calling, let it be the instrument of the Order of the Good Samaritans. And remember, El Morya has taught you: the first principle of that order is a spirit of noncondemnation. The removal of criticism, condemnation, and judgment will free you from all that binds you.

     Begin with yourself, beloved heart. Do not be so hard on yourself. Be hard on the devils that invade the temple but be sweet to your soul in a sweetness that bears the expectancy of accomplishment each day but does not drive the beast so that it may fall as it plows the field and plows its karma.

     Beloved ones, you have a mighty property, and a power in the very earth of that property, in Montana. And it must be defended by constitutional means and by the flame of the heart against all encroachments or the jealousy of those who lust after the light.

     You can see that that property is an extension of vast miles of wilderness and parks set aside - in this case, lawfully as a preserve for the purposes of our Brotherhood, as an extension of the flame of freedom of America anchored in the Royal Teton Retreat. The place marked by the Grand Teton is a hallowed place where evolutions have taken embodiment for the very first time, the first and second and third root races, and from which many shall ascend in their finer bodies.

     As custodians of the purity of the land and its right use as regards this organization's needs, you must see to it that individuals and bodies with ultimate power, not restrained, are not able to turn aside the plan of God. You must also take care that you do respect that environment (as I am certain you will), to be good neighbors and obviously not to place there those things which would in truth infringe upon their rights.

     Let us realize that the Great White Brotherhood in physical embodiment does not have an alternative movement, organization, or piece of land. Nor do we have alternative chelas or messengers. And therefore, all that is taking place in Congress and across the nation through many agencies must be looked at as having the potential also to react against either any individual one of you or all of you as the One. The defense of this person and principle is most important, for it is done for all Americans.

     Our Mother wrote to you during the period of challenging by zoning, by the city of Minneapolis, of our teaching center there, stating that this was a cause that must be fought and won for all American people, for all religions, if we must spend even what it would take all the way to the Supreme Court. And it was so.

     On that particular case and the judgment of the Supreme Court of the State of Minnesota hung the fate of many individuals and groups with far less ability to stand in the face of such opposition. Therefore, the victory was won and sealed as a precedent in that city; but at inner levels it was a drawing of the line for all people in this nation that zoning laws must not be used to encroach upon religious freedom nor so construed or contrived to tear down those religions that are not in the mainstream of acceptability.

     There are other battles to win, and they will be won as you establish yourselves as the indivisible, undivided One - an expression of that Law of Love.

     Let all problems and disagreements be brought to the Round Table, not the "square table" that ends in conflicts at four points. Come now, let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, I will make them white as wool. Therefore, whatever the burden of misunderstanding or karma or sin or accusation or disagreement, can we not all enter the whiteness by transmutation, to sit at the Round Table and offer calls to the violet flame, then to place the problem on the table to discuss it? Then let it be heard by our representative.

     I can assure you when you call to me or the ascended masters, to God or your Presence, you will receive the right answer through the messenger in due course. Have faith in the office, and the office will not fail you. When you are not faithful but doubt and fear, you will receive back from the messenger your own doubts and fears. For the messenger is a giant mirror, reflecting to you the light and precise information of your I AM Presence. But if you stand in the mirror with your doubt and questioning, the perception will not be there and you will not receive the answer that is just beyond the veil.

     Thus, with all due consideration to the burdens of her office and our great desire to accelerate our publishing, sometimes the answer may take a little while. But when you support that office and service as you do so nobly, you will know and perceive that with the messenger it is never a question of time but of peace and attunement. The information, the direction, the design - these come in an instant, in a matter of seconds when you do your part, and especially when you research and bring all the known facts and information to bear on a decision, not only to our messenger but to our representatives here and at the Inner Retreat.

     You have an unfailing guidance of your own I AM Presence and Christ Self and, of course, must lean upon this. I speak of areas where you are not able to arrive at the right conclusions or a clear understanding or of matters of disagreement between members. In these areas where you cannot solve the problem, you can understand that that is the point of the need of the messenger.

     The messenger is only needed in those hours and moments when your attunement with your own Christ Self and your own good logic and experience does not suffice to solve the problem of the moment. We urge you, of course, to lay all these things on the altar of the entire Great White Brotherhood, to give your decrees and look for the sign that is the certain sign of direction that surely does not always necessarily come out of the mouth of the messenger.

     Thus, beloved hearts, be diligent in your decrees for the union of this movement, for the sealing of the Inner Retreat and the protection of each step.

     You may apply to me for the victory of my causal body in matters of supply. And I would advise you that when you are diligent in the care of not being wasteful of time or space or energy or resources or money itself, you will increase and multiply that which you have more quickly. When you are unwise in the use of these things, you will find less available ascended-master sponsors for a loan of energy or light. It is much like going to the local banker; your record is important. And how you rightfully use energy day by day magnetizes mighty beings of light to increase your portion.

     Mindful of the hearts of my own children, I would exercise my lawful right as their father in this hour to call them, as I have not called them in these eleven years, to come to this altar now to receive my blessing, as it is the hour - Sean and Erin and Moira and Tatiana.

     Our heavenly Father, I, as your servant Mark, kneel before this altar in gratitude for my life and opportunity in my final incarnation to have with me these my own, these five.

     I am grateful to Thee, O God, for the opportunity of taking Elizabeth to my wife and to have received these souls whose father I am, whom I sponsor from the beginning unto the ending as in all eternity.

     I am grateful, O Father, to Jesus and El Morya and Saint Germain, to Mother Mary, my Saviouress, to all the masters who succored me in my own temptations and trials and brought me through the final hours of my service.

     In this gratitude, O Father, I would give to my own lambs that portion of my mantle which they have earned, which may be theirs as comfort and strength and protection in the days ahead. And therefore, in the company of my friends who love also, who neither criticize nor condemn nor are envious nor jealous but also are my children and brothers and sisters, I draw these four pillars to be on earth now the fullness of the four lower vehicles of my own, which you have since transfigured by your love. Let them be in Matter, therefore, myself and the flame of their mother that we might be one in love eternally.

     By the sapphire light of Morya, our sponsor and the lover of our souls, we therefore, as one, find healing and comfort and experience no loss or grief or separation. Let, therefore, this comfort of our oneness heal the grief of all hearts in this world who must also experience the parting between octaves.

     Empowered now by my presence and Thy own hand, beloved Father, by El Morya and the Great Divine Director, I do transfer to each one the will of the heart - his own heart and her own heart - the desire to be the fullness of one's true and inner self, that very private portion of one's self that is one's own to outpicture.

     I come to reinforce the freedom of my own and their freedom to be God as they understand and perceive Him. May I help also these to behold Thee as Thou art and to behold themselves made in Thy image and likeness. As I stand with these four, so may all know that I stand with each and every one who would attach himself or herself to my heart as chela, as child, as son, as daughter.

     The same law which allows me to claim these as my own and precious ones allows me to receive you also. The same love which you allow me to express, my personal love, will, in you, allow me to love you each one more as my own.

     As I look forward to the years of helping you, all Keepers of the Flame, I look forward to a closer oneness as exemplified in this ceremony. May you also one day know me as father in the most comforting oneness of our love, and may you support each tender heart who is trying to be himself and herself in this love.

     Thus, I stand for the will of God and the protection of my own, and I still stand upon the rock of the cosmic honor flame. So help me, God, our Father, to fulfill my promise to each soul here, to my own, and to all lightbearers in this world and worlds without end.

     Without Thee, my Father, I could not have made this sacrifice. And without Thee they could not have borne it. Therefore, we thank Thee together, as one.

     Now let the fire of the God Star, thy Home, remind the soul and key the memory to its fiery destiny. By the white-fire/blue-fire sun, I seal and anoint thee, my son, Sean. Let the light of Surya, thy sponsor, my daughter Erin, transmit now to this vessel a permeation of that white-fire/blue-fire sun of Sirius, thy Home. So thou hast descended, so thou shalt return. It is the will of thy Father in heaven and my own. Freely make it thine, and love life free.

     Our bonds are great, my children. The reinforcement of heaven is a reality for each step of the way. The sapphire sun, the diamond heart, Morya's and my own, seals the will and fervor that thou hast espoused in the beginning. Thus in the ending may it be so, that the crystal glory of thy ascent may give to all the purity of love's victory as a promise for thee, for thee - and for each child of our heart.

     Thus, Moira and Tatiana, children so small and now so tall, walking in my footsteps and your own, I pray you see His face and by that supernal smile know a grace that will woo the world to the poetry of thy heart and to the power of thy God.

     Thus Sirius does call and the hours fall. Let the sands in thy glass be diamond and sapphire crystals marking thy ascent.

     I bless all with the love ineffable. And I am pleased in my soul that so many sons and daughters of Morya stand this day for our Brotherhood, each in his own way and calling.

     My beloved, I have always trusted the God in you and your own souls, strong in truth and love. The fulfillment of the inner power of thy flame is the wonder to behold. As father, as mother, we love, we strengthen, we hold the balance, and we stand back that you might be free to be.

     Rings of fire from the Central Sun, now seal this community of light. I ask you, then, my son, my daughters: Serve now the wine of this communion feast. Transmit my essence while others serve the bread. I would touch you all, that you might know that I have loved my children. And as I love them, I also love you as my own.

     I, Mark, desire to read to you from my book,8 chapter 16.

     And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, and Salome had bought sweet spices that they might come and anoint him.

     Even so, anoint ye one another.

     And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

     Even so, come ye to the sepulchre of one another at the rising of the sun of Christhood.

     And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

     Even so, join together and roll away the stone for one another.

     And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away, for it was very great.

     Even so, lean ye upon the arm of the Great White Brotherhood to roll away one another's stone.

     And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment, and they were affrighted.

     Even so, keep ye the vigil in the tomb as the divine place prepared for thy brother, for thy sister, for the realization of thy Immortal Self.

     And he saith unto them: Be not affrighted. Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified. He is risen, he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him.

     When they seek thy friend, declare the truth: The former self is not here, he is risen.

     But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee. There shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

     Even so, tell them that I am risen, that I go before you - and the brother and the sister and the stranger. I go before you that ye also might find that true love and thy Christhood.

     And they went out quickly and fled from the sepulchre, for they trembled and were amazed. Neither said they any thing to any man, for they were afraid.

     Therefore, keep also the mystery of the divine encounter.

     Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

     Even so, tell them I will come to bind all unreality. Tell them also that they are free in me and in our love.

     And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

     Therefore, weep not nor mourn, for the fulfillment of the resurrection is always the reintegration of the Father and the son, the Father and the daughter. I am in you and you are in me. Therefore, the parting is the moment just preceding the all-oneness.

     And they, when they had heard that he was alive and had been seen of her, believed not.

     Believest thou that I am alive and with thee now, O my own?

     ["Yes!"]

     After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.

     Fear not to go into a far country with me, with thy Christ. Fear not the journey to thy highest abode.

     And they went and told it unto the residue. Neither believed they them.

     Therefore, beloved, heal the body of God of all unbelief in the power, the presence, and the reality of the resurrection of every son and daughter of God, and believe unto thine own resurrection and eternal life. I in thee and thou in me, for Christ is one.

     Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

     Thus, I send you the sacred fire of my ascension to consume the records of doubt and fear and questioning of unbelief in thine own immortality and Christhood. Believe therefore that I AM THAT I AM, Christ in thee and Christ in me, is the all and the everything of the pure power of forgiveness, of love, and of thy reality, beloved.

     And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

     Speak the word of the dynamic decree into every situation and creation and creature of thought and feeling. Preach the living Truth and behold! Truth shall answer thee from the rock, the earth, the tree, the bird, the sky. Send the Truth and it shall return to thee, O my heart.

     He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned.

     Therefore, bind thyself by thy Christ, beloved.

     And these signs shall follow them that believe. In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

     These things do ye, therefore. By the power of the I AM THAT I AM in me, I give to you, my son and daughters and all children of Light, by their hearts, that power of my Christhood to do these things: to cast out devils, discarnates and demons of false belief of every kind; to speak the new tongue of the Everlasting Gospel in purity and in truth; to take up serpents - the very fallen ones midst our youth.

     And if you drink any deadly thing, taking in therefore the poisons of the astral plane or the fallen ones or the darkness of this world, it shall not hurt thee. For I AM the LORD thy God in the midst of thee: I AM one in the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit and in the heart of the Mother. I AM the sacred fire of transmutation. No sin shall overtake thee or poison thee or mar thee, for thy life is renewed and purified this day, for I AM with thee and in thee, thy Father.

     Thou shalt lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

     So let the hand of God as it is upon you be upon all, and let that which is not whole be made whole by the hand of the whole community of lightbearers, by the Holy Spirit of me and of the Great White Brotherhood working in and through you and abounding in you. Let the right hand of Almighty God be the movement unto the Son.

     So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God.

     And so, my beloved, I confess to you that I am in the heart of Jesus and with Jesus and with our Father. By his presence I am with you and I bless you. For it is truly in his name which I have also made my own, Christos, that I bequeath my power to you for the healing - the healing of all souls who would return to Light.

     And they went forth ...

     And you shall go forth, and preach everywhere, the Lord, your Mighty I AM Presence and Sanat Kumara, working with you and confirming my word with signs following. Amen.

     May the blessings of our Saviour be unto you the full salvation of grace to which I have attained by the gift of God. So judged by my words and by my works, I am, too, one with the company of saints.

     In the words of the Beloved, I embrace you with the love of my heart.

7 On February 24, 1984, at 2:23 p.m., a gunman identified by police as Tyrone Mitchell, 28, of Los Angeles, fired 57 rounds from his apartment window into the crowded playground of 49th Street Elementary School in South-Central Los Angeles. Ten-year-old Shala Eubanks died minutes later. Eleven other children as well as a schoolyard supervisor were wounded. Carlos Lopez, 24, who had been passing by the school at the time of the attack, was hit in the abdomen by the gunfire and died April 13 from his injuries. When a Los Angeles Police Department SWAT team stormed Mitchell's house (across the street from the school) shortly before 6:00 p.m., they found him dead from a self-inflicted shotgun blast to the head. Neighbors confirmed that he was well-known in the area as a violent, disturbed man. Deputy Police Chief Lew Ritter further described him as a heavy user of PCP and other drugs, with a reputation for irrational behavior. According to reports, Mitchell had been a follower of Jim Jones; his parents, four sisters, and a brother died in the mass suicide in Guyana. A next-door neighbor, who had recently witnessed him firing into the sky at airliners passing overhead, explained: "I didn't want to call police because I didn't want problems with the neighbors."
