How came thou into the midst of the sacred fire? How came thou, O soul of God's desire? Came thou by love, or by the flame of Truth, or by the presence of victory? By the light of God came thou in, O soul of fire. Therefore, soul, do not lay claim to thy accomplishment in that sacred fire, but know that it is because the Lord thy God hath led thee into the place hallowed by the flame of Victory!
Know, then, that all are come into the One because the call has gone forth as a mighty light ray to draw you into the center of the One. Know, then, that even the very first step on the path of freedom is a step empowered by the Almighty One. This for the moment of pride in attainment - now for the moment of humility. For the moment of humility, then say, "I, O God, AM one in thee because thou art my very own. I AM one with thee, O God. I have come into the center of thy sacred fire by thy grace. I AM God in manifestation. I claim that God as adornment for sacred life aborning and for the moment of love. Because thou art, O God, I AM love."
Precious hearts, I come with legions as always - legions of flaming victory, flaming, God-victorious Christ-illumination, Buddhic-illumination, and the illumination of wisdom in Mother's name. I come in the great glory of the Great Central Sun with that vision, the far-off vision of the dawn of victory. I come as the hymn is sung to that name and to that origin of my flame.1
Ah, how the flame has gone forth as God has cycled the mighty fire of Victory across a cosmos. And curving, it has returned as the mighty arc of life to envelop, to enfold, to be the manger and the abode, the cross and the crown of the Comforter and the initiate on the path of comfort's flame.
The goal of the ascension is to impart comfort to life. The comfort is the certitude of victory. Sometimes it becomes necessary to manifest the victory of the ascension in order to give comfort to life, and sometimes it becomes necessary to forgo the ascension to give comfort to life. The Lord will tell you himself whether the Alpha or the Omega current is unto you the calling in this hour.
There have assembled now in this hour at the rear of the auditorium, balancing the flame of Spirit, those souls of light who have come forth from the Temple of the Resurrection - unascended souls of magnificent countenance who have stood with the evolutions of Terra, who have stood with the saints and as the sages. They have stood to retain that flame at the etheric level to give comfort to life. They hold the polarity of the Omega cycle in Mater. They are the consciousness of the ascension, yet unascended. You might say they have reached that plane of samadhi, of eternal communion with Mother light, and from that communion drawn forth even the light of nirvanic planes, anchoring that light here below. They are the perpetuation of the Word.
Now, then, salute these precious ones, among them your own beloved Yogananda and Babaji and Mataji who retain in Mater the flame of Life. Salute them with your heart's love, precious ones, for they have come to enfold you. You may stand and face them and see the glory [audience rises], for they come with light, trailing the light of the garments of East and West. See them as they stand. They stand to ennoble the race, they stand for the meeting of the paths of East and West. And among them are those saints of the Church of the West also, and even the Eastern Church, who have been claimed as saints and yet who have not taken the full measure of the ascension, for they have been waiting, waiting for the hour when you would come into your own.
See that light, those of you who have learned of these great ones. See how their love is of the brooding presence of the Mother, how they do nourish life. They are accompanied by unnamed, unnumbered souls of the East who have remained in the hidden fastnesses of the Himalayas. They are accompanied by souls who are your brothers and sisters on the Path.
And so you see, the path of the East has come to the West, and the way has been forged by Ramakrishna and Vivekananda and all those who have made the trek to deliver the word of the sacred teachings. Now see then how all of the children of Israel find a meeting in the heart of the Mother, find the place of consecration and, above all, the definition of purpose, of mission, of will, of identity.
O sacred identity of the newborn Christ, sacred identity of the masters of the Himalayas who pay tribute to the messengers in the West, to the witnesses who bring forth the teachings of the ascended masters! Now let the paths of the masters ascended and the masters unascended converge as the cross of light in the heart of the Mother. And let the teachings of both schools be combined in the great mysteries, for thereby those who have studied with the unascended masters will have the benefit of the Spirit corps of the ascended masters, and those who have been the students of the ascended masters will understand the mastery in the Matter plane of the unascended ones - the Bodhisattvas becoming the Buddhas, becoming the Mother in the way.
Now, will you not turn and face the ascended masters who have gathered on the platform as the chohans of the rays, the Great Divine Director, and the Maha Chohan, sponsoring the path of the ascension - the path of the ascension that arcs, then, from the side of the South in the unascended avatars to the side of the North that is the fiery core of the Spirit plane.
Therefore, you who have come in the way of the ascended masters, stand to give forth the teachings of the ascended masters to the chelas of the unascended masters. Do you see, then, that this intertwining of East and West and paths of Alpha and Omega is once again for the caduceus flow and the fiery action of the Law? Do you not see that by the eighth ray of the Buddha and the Mother there is the integration of fiery worlds above, fiery worlds below?
Yo! Yo! I say. Yo! Come forth, legions of Mighty Victory! Come forth now to impart to the messengers of truth in science and in religion that impetus of victory whereby we go forth to win, we go forth to conquer!
Each one of you is aligned in science or in religion, for these are the polarities of Alpha and Omega. Understand, then, that to bring truth in Spirit and in Matter through paths of East and West, there must be the understanding. And those who have majored in religion - that is, that religio, binding the soul to the Spirit - must now consider that science of the Spirit and that science of Matter in many forms, in many ways. Therefore, for the balancing am I come that those of you who are people of science may now learn to converse in the terms of religion; those of you who are people of religion may now learn to converse in the terms of science.
Messengers of truth, you must be ready and able to speak in every tongue, as Charity and Chamuel have said. You must be ready to speak to souls who cannot understand aught but the language of science or of mathematics or of the teachings of the East. See, then, that you become fluent as linguists of the Spirit in the terminology and in the understanding of the peoples of this earth. You must speak to them in a way that they can understand. This will demand study on your part of the religions of the world and of the newest discoveries of science and allowing the inner flame of the Christ within you to correlate, point by point, these manifestations of the inner law.
You will be able to prove that living truth. And I tell you also that the reward for your study will be that your Christ Self will transfer to you those clues and those keys that come from the Cave of Symbols where Saint Germain presides to hold those necessary inventions and interpretations of the Holy Spirit that will be given by the alchemy of Aquarius to those new-age disciples.
See then that you must have a matrix, a certain matrix of understanding, in order to receive the interpretation of the Word for the great multitudes of the peoples on this earth who will be drawn into this teaching. See then that you have the sense of victory, for it is the victorious sense of cycles spinning, whirling to the white fire core of being that will take your mind across the paths of the golden consciousness of the Mind of God whereby you will increase your intelligence; your very IQ will be intensified.
And have you not already observed how your minds have been quickened and you are not as slow and sluggish as you used to be or as your friends, you find, still are - who have not taken up the path of light? You can move with dexterity, you can think with the mercury diamond-shining Mind of God! Therefore, let it be so! For we desire to expand now the chalice of your consciousness in preparation for the coming of Jophiel and Christine, who will sponsor the glorious release of illumination's flame.
And you who will not be present at this quarter of Summit University, I say to you, wherever you are, you must make the daily call to arc that light of the Mind of God from the trinity which we will form from this focal point of light in the City of the Angels. See then that you realize that all are students of the law of the Most High God and you are never excluded from our sessions at Summit University, but you only exclude yourselves when you fail to make the call for the angels of light to bring to you the latest dispensations of the teachings that come through the hand of the Mother.
Therefore, everywhere you are in time and space, know that the Buddha and the Mother can transfer to you by God's grace that energy and that teaching, and that you must and you can be, by journeying to the retreats of the Great White Brotherhood, au courant of the latest discoveries and the latest releases of light. They are indeed for the salvation of souls, they are indeed for the two-thousand-year cycle of Aquarius.
And therefore, let all be diligent to assimilate the Word, for the only repository of the Word is in your heart and in your soul and in your mind. Secondarily, it may be recorded in books. But after all, the worms may eat the books, but the worms can never, never, never eat the fiery sacred heart of the repository of Mother Mary and of Saint Germain.
And so you see, the torch is always passed by the heart; and as we stand before you, we release that fire of the heart and so you release the fire of the heart. It is all well and good for you to pass the book, but you must endow the book with the flame of your heart. It is the cup, it is the chalice, it is the instrument, it is the Matter cycle. It is the bowl of your sacred flame of Summit University.
You must not feel that that book has been fulfilled only in its writing and its printing. It is fulfilled when you wrap it in love, when you charge it with your life's devotion, and when you give it with full understanding. Do you know what is in the book that you give? Shame on you! You must know that book ere you give it. If you would give it away, you must give a portion of yourself with it. You must be able to confer that teaching and not simply the paper.
Precious ones, when you have entrusted to you the illumination for an age, it behooves you to study, to learn, to carry with you the sayings of the masters, to have your little cassette tape recorder and to punch that button and to hear those tapes whenever you have a spare moment. When you are having your meals, is it not possible for you to enjoy the teachings of the masters? Is it not more important for you to hear the conversations of the angelic hosts and the teachings of the Lord than to engage in idle chatter that does not lead to the evolution of the God consciousness on earth?
I speak this to you because it is necessary for some among mankind to sacrifice these little pleasures because we are dealing with a very dense evolution on earth, as some of you have observed. This evolution is a perverse and stubborn evolution, infiltrated by fallen ones who have dedicated themselves to darkness rather than to light, and they will not give up their stranglehold on humanity all so easily.
And therefore, I say to you, when you go forth to cut humanity free, do not expect to be welcomed by the archdeceivers or those who have been referred to as these "experts." I tell you, they will not welcome you with open arms, but they will use the full power and the money and the energy that they have amassed away from the Mother and her children to deter you from your path. And they will cause all manner of grief to come upon you, and every method that is available in their hands, as it has been done already to the messengers and the prophets and the teachers throughout the ages.
And therefore, expect no hilarious reception. Become accustomed to the fact, therefore, that the sword of illumination's flame will cut to the quick those ones who must rely on the carnal mind and its game. The sword of illumination thrust, thrust to the core of the error and the lie, will so take those fallen ones off guard that while they are reeling from the blow, the precious children of the light will go free! And you will stand and with the Lord you will be in derision. You will laugh in derision,2 for the fallen ones, you see, have not accelerated consciousness. And therefore, in the day of the judgment, of illumination, they will not stand, but they will stand wondering, "What has happened? Mankind are no longer in our grasp - here we stand alone!"
Do you not understand that those who have amassed the power and the wealth of the world are only standing on the pinnacle of the people of God, that they are taking from them their daily work, their daily bread, their daily supply, and that when these are withdrawn, they will simply plop! Well, this is the mighty cosmic sense of victory that I bring to you this day, the understanding that the foundation of life on earth is always sealed in the hearts of the devotees and the people of God.
Well, I daresay, some of you have come into your own. You have finally remembered who you are in this conference. Isn't that wonderful! [laughter and applause] Well, it is indeed wonderful and we are joyous, for we know that when the soul remembers who I AM, then that soul will soar. And do you know, some souls of light have attained such an awareness of who I AM that it has exalted them even right out of the very spheres and planes of Mater. I tell you, then, for some who are advanced on the Path, we must veil the awareness of who I AM for that awareness is so great that it will actually act to tear that soul from this very octave.
And therefore, we keep the balance for our messenger; we keep the balance for those who view the messenger. And the veils that are worn are so that not all will recognize who that I AM is, who the I AM THAT I AM is. And so the messenger will have identification almost in the human sense for the guarding of the identity, the guarding and the watchfulness of that identity of God in this plane.
Do you understand that once the soul has so totally identified with God in the cosmos and in Spirit, that soul is simply swept up into that awareness and is no longer among you? As we have said before, when the vessel is perfect, the vessel disappears. Therefore, be grateful for imperfections in the vessel, be grateful for chinks in the armor and dents in the cup, for by these there is yet recognition in Matter of the flaming Presence of the living God. And so within yourselves, you are a people fashioned after the image of God, yet you also retain your identity in family and community and even in your tribe. So understand, then, that these identifications are the coordinates in Matter whereby you win that victory for Spirit in Matter.
