The bounty of life is found in love. If a panacea exists, it is love and the feeling thereof. such delight is in love that it floods the mind and heart with expanding vistas of new hope, even when hope seems far away. There is a joy that kaleidoscopes memory, past and present, into the glass of the future as pink mayflowers falling like snow in an azure blue sky bringing intimations of a Golden Age to come.
Love is the sun of that perfect day when civilization will have passed through its long night of degradation into a perennial sense of spring and of eternal summers that makes eternal Life worth living. The segments of men's lives that are their yesterdays, their todays, and their tomorrows are time-spatial sequences that should mark a passing from glory unto glory,1 making every intimation of heaven believable to the outer consciousness.
The wonderful world of childhood is great because of the mystical sense of being and of believing in the permanence of Life at the same time that its ongoingness is assessed by the soul as joyous expectancy and spiritual advancement. Such ideas permeating the body and the mind of man produce, even within his physical form, the fragrant hope that, in rivulets of joy, surges with the currents of a mighty river through the whole being. Washing away troubles and cares, hope creates a vanishing point for darkness and a search of far horizons for the faintest star of joy and Light.
So wonderful is the concept of a true spiritual valentine winging messages of Love from heart to heart that it is my desire to portray for you a portrait of divine love. One day, regardless of outer circumstances or who is to blame for them, mankind will clearly see that the omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent god in the perfect balance of universal love, wisdom, and power has already given the greatest valentine of all to mankind when He conveyed the very thought of Himself and His potential to the blessed individuality of each one.
The heavy clouds of worldly condemnation, jealousy, and egotistic judgments are seldom seen or felt by the insensate ones who create them. These are quick to rationalize all they do as being within the province of their rights, but they seldom understand that what they give to others is what they themselves shall ultimately receive.
The law of currents indicates clearly that the course of all energy, whether it be qualified with shadow or with Light, flows back to its source. Inasmuch as God is the author of only loveliness and perfection, only loveliness and perfection can be known by Him, expanded by Him, and returned to Him. As above, so below all virtues and vices return to their authors. thus mankind's heavens as well as their hades are either of their own creating or of those dark spirits that in past ages rejected god and survive to the present day through their vampirism of the energies of embodies mankind. When the day dawns that mankind learn to repudiate darkness and not to personalize it, they will no longer feel the need to express condemnation; hence they will no longer receive it on the returning current. All may then perceive, if they will, the loveliness and perfection of the law of love. Nature will produce abundantly for man and the joy of the Lord will fill the heart of every tiny babe at birth unto the fulfillment of his cycle.
The advent of the infinite flow into the finite consciousness will surely erase all the works of darkness that now loom so large in the world, replacing them all by the miracle sense of the divine potential. The nearness of the angels and mankind's invisible teachers will enable humanity to at last become the recipients of the boundless energies of the universe, restoring their soul faculties and returning to them the magical age of innocence. But their energies will not be engaged in the protecting of a sand fort from an ocean that will ultimately wash it away, but instead in the building of foundations of freedom upon the bedrock of truth not merely as he sees it, but as God sees it for every one of His children.
As your beloved friend El Morya saith, a thrust for a purpose will establish in you that inward sense which, in its plasticity of direct apprehension and divine knowing, can find acceptance for ideas that are not earthy, but heavenly. The refinement of the sense of man is a magnificent gift of great import in precipitating the divine art or the art of being divine.
Men need never fear the heavenly consciousness, for all that is of god is worthy of being cherished. And to each individual there is given the opportunity of embellishing the universe. Men furnish houses, array themselves in fine linen, and deck their halls with festoons of gaiety. Let them understand the art of becoming a decorator of the universe and of becoming an interior decorator of their consciousness. Not only will the self benefit, but also the universe which has need of those who value supremely creative innocence and the will to become the handiworkers of heaven.
For this cause were all born, for this cause did man come into the world, that he, identifying with the Christ Consciousness, with the most tangible reality of the living Christ, might be engaged in his Father's business, the business of permanently creating in the world beauty and the divine sense of beauty as a memorial to the correct use of the many gifts of Life. Of these many gifts, love is the greatest2 - and all may receive it, and all may give it.

I want you to know that she will be with you until this service shall break up. Until you shall leave and depart these doors, she will be with you this night, giving her love and her counsel at inner levels to you, conveying her blessing to you as the first Mother of the Flame. And she shall, ere the night pass, give to the present Mother of the Flame3 a torch charged with the vital fires from God's heavenly altar and the conveyance of a vast mission to illumine the world's children and produce the blessing of true culture to the age and unto all people everywhere.
Is this then not a great blessing to those of you who can understand it - and even to those who cannot? It is the conveyance of a soul into its higher octave of Light, into the ritual of its ascension. Do you understand, then, that as this goal that was once given to her and promised unto her by Mary the Mother of Jesus herself4 has been achieved and fulfilled, this blessed soul desires that you should feel the currents of her love even now? And Heaven itself asks that the angels that accompany me, the beautiful devas, will fold their wings, as it were, in adoration to her Divine Presence. [Silence]
And there was silence in heaven. For out of the far reaches of silence men may summon the loftiest thoughts. And new ideas shall instill in the mind the benediction of eternal Life. Eternal Life was intended for you all. Each of you were destined and are destined to inherit eternal Life.
Pause now at the threshold of the year and consider for a moment what the boon is of the flame within the heart, of the precious gift - the oil of individuality that is poured out upon each individual, upon each person, upon each son and daughter of God. This is the fragrance of myrrh, of frankincense and the worth of spiritual gold. This is the gift of the ages. It will be merited because God wills it so.
Who can deny the All-Father
The gift of the summoning of His plan?
Who can deny the All-Father
The great bond of Life unto man?
Who can separate from a universe of givingness
All of the radiance of immortal livingness?
I AM the one, the Buddha unfolding
Upon the altar of each one, now golding
His soul with the metal of spiritual grace
To keep his blessed pace
With the beat, the heartbeat of Life, that emboldens,
That declares, "Lo, I AM fulfilling in you now My divine intent."
And will you decide that all of this that we produce for your comfort, for your admonishment, for your blessing, is but an act of a human being? Do you think it is a mockery when it is an offering of our hearts unto each of you? The Buddha is the unfolding Divinity within you all - the little bud upon the stalk of Life that blazes in the white-fire sunlight, that opens the stream of the eternal enfoldment within the bud until at last the flower upon the stalk and the perfume lure others also into the pathways of immortality, of Reality, of the ties of perfection that gird the world with strength.
O beloved mankind, the thought form which has been delivered unto you now is tangible and real, and a miniature replica of this thought form is conveyed to each one. Each Hierarch has a golden replica already manufactured by the spiritual devas. Why, even the gandharvas are interested in the magnificence of this thought form serving to create and re-create new images in the mind of man that shall lead him to the eternal fulfillment.
