Beloved Hearts of Fiery Devotion,
Reason persists in her mystery. Inherent within the heart of a universe are the mysteries of its creation. Were these laws totally known by mankind in their present state, mankind's problems would be compounded. There is no doubt that chaos would prevail and order disappear.
Nevertheless, as Christ said, "The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."1 Man's scientific probing of the knowledge of the universe as though cause and effect were always involved in the surface manifestation, or just beneath the surface within man's reach, has caused him to feel that all knowledge could ultimately be unlocked through science. He has failed to recognize the fact that in the very depth of the creation, far beyond the ken of mortal mind, lie the vast untapped secrets of the Cosmos.
While the statement "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth"2 can be applied to any Christed Being in any time or place, it must be understood that God has reserved through the great Book of Mysteries that spiritual lore which is the treasure of heaven. Pray God then, beloved ones, that mankind are never able to wrest these secrets from the universe in a premature manner to the danger of all Life.
The flaming Cherubim who guard the way of the Tree of Life3 through the media of the sacred mysteries are a very important part of the universe. It is not necessary for mankind to initiate a special probing of the universal mystery; for held within the archives of the sacred Brotherhood, as a part of its initiatory rites, are those masterful technique which are dispensed according to divine decree whereby mankind can rightly assert their dominion over themselves and the universe.
Wise is the man or the woman who will, by reason of his trust in God, reach out to find Him and to employ the magnificent methods that He has developed and released unto mankind for his salvation. In the drama of Jacob's dream, when he placed his head upon a stone that he had put for his pillow,4 it was symbolical of his placing his head upon the rock of the Christ Consciousness and finding ascending therefrom a ladder of angelic revelations of the natural powers of God that are within the reach of man. These powers, when properly used, will lead him in consciousness to the sacred place where the great door of the heavenly mysteries is revealed. Until the same experience that Jacob had transpires within the soul of every man, it is well that he heed the admonishment "In your patience possess ye your souls."5 Striving for holiness with gratitude for His graciousness, the disciple remembers the word of the apostle "Godliness with contentment is great gain."6
The first armor of God7 that should be put on, then, is the armor of faith and trust in the outworking of natural law according to the highest destiny for every man. If you will write these things in your hearts and minds, knowing that God first has penned them there,8 you will find that the peace that will come to you will insure a steady rate of progress which Heaven knows can be accelerated at any time. The magnificent cosmic pattern unfolding within the heart and mind of each individual will reveal at last how the microcosm of the individual may become the macrocosm of the Universal Consciousness. Thus is the fire of heaven transferred to the altar of individuality, raising the individual consciousness into such bliss of thought that he becomes the hand of the Holy Spirit wherever he moves.
Shielding the sacred mysteries as an emissary of Infinity, I am privileged to continue to teach day after day all who in their various capacities perceive that Life is beautiful. The wickedness of some men, from the least to the greatest among them, indicates the need for keeping the way of the Tree of Life, for seeing to it that corruption does not inherit eternal Life, but only that incorruptible consciousness9 which is God-bliss, immortality, and universal joy forever.
How mighty are the works of God! How gracious His intent! It is necessary that mankind, in his search for Reality, in his penetration of the inner mysteries, should realize that there is a division between the revelation and the action of a mystery. Each mystery fathomed by the Consciousness of God within the fire of the heart releases to the individual first the vision of the glory - and many times this is given in sacred symbols - and second a fiat of action. When this fiat is implemented with tact and grace, it always instills in those who perceive it that holy awe which gives glory unto the Creator.
And it is precisely mankind's attention upon the glory of God rather than upon the human personality which enables the action of the beloved I AM Presence to be sustained. This is the I AM Presence which revealed itself to Moses in the bush that burned but was not consumed10 that is individualized in each man as the doer of mighty deeds of renown that shall ultimately place the moon under mankind's feet.11 Thus when the glory of the Light of the mystery is given preeminence, the lunar aspects, or emotional impulses of corruptible man, shall be relegated to their rightful place at the same time that the Sun of Righteousness rises into action in incorruptible man with healing in His wings.12
As darkness wanes, so Light increases. The fiat of this year given forth by the cosmic Hierarchy is "The darker the night, the brighter the day." The children of the dawn moving in concerted action perceive our diplomatic hand that is the hand of cosmic guidance affecting every department of Life, elevating mankind's goals and raising them into that which is far beyond mere human idealism into that which is immortally established as the will and intent of the Creator to endow each man, regardless of his present station, with a spiritual bequest of the highest gifts.
Through faith and receptivity, each man will be endowed, as he is able to receive them, with the inestimable bounties of cosmic grace. For in Reality these already enfold all Life, establishing that inner rapport with the esoteric Brotherhood that restores in each individual an awareness of his Being as a part of the vast, complex yet simple manifestation of universal oneness. To unite people without their inculcation with a similitude of values is to create, in effect, greater measures of chaos like unto that of the Tower of Babel.13 To unite in the fount of oneness of God's purposes for all Life is to find direction from the Brotherhood and that faith that moves mountains.14
Nineteen seventy-three can, if man wills to accept it, become a catalyst of such importance in the caravan of years as to establish for all mankind universal harmony in the universal Christ Consciousness. Those of every faith should recognize that the goal more than the method of their faith is what counts. The Brotherhood, passing over the lines that separate church from church, exalts the heavenly consciousness wherever it is found. Wherever the individual is, there is truly no power but God that can act, if he lovingly accepts this law.
Imbue your consciousness, then, with our direction and observe the Body of God upon earth fulfilling the act of laying against the great cornerstone which is Christ15 that foundation which is eternal in every age. And in erecting that Golden Age edifice, they shall purify it by the universal fires of regeneration until the refined gold of the covering will not only vest the outer domain with the knowledge and fiber of everlasting Life, but also be through and through the focus of the burning, molten purposes of Spirit within the matrix of form.
Note: Saint Germain is the Chohan (Lord) of the Seventh Ray of Freedom and the Director of the Seventh Dispensation - the next two-thousand year cycle. His divine complement is Portia, the Goddess of Justice, who serves on the Karmic Board. He is Hierarch of the retreats known as the Cave of Symbols in Wyoming and the Rakoczy Mansion in Transylvania. He is the Knight Commander of the Keepers of the Flame Fraternity.
