The Opening of the Temple Doors
VII

To the Pure in Heart, Who See God in Manifestation Everywhere:

To each man and each woman there is given the opportunity to prepare for the ascension. And none is deprived of the privilege of making himself ready. As a bride makes ready for her wedding day, filling the hope chest with the most precious linens and embroideries, so the soul makes ready for its reunion by garnering floral virtues, flame qualities which it appliqués upon the seamless garment.1 And none may participate in the marriage feast without a wedding garment.2

The All-Seeing Eye of God is the eye of the needle that pulls the thread woven of the energies of the individual's solar awareness. The needle is the magnet of the Central Sun of man's Being. And the hand that pulls the needle is the hand dedicated to the will of God unto the outpicturing of His immortal perfection in every facet of Life, every movement of Being, and each service rendered unto God and man.

Vision dedicated to the flowering of perfection - this is the requirement of the hour of all who anticipate with rejoicing the moment of the great transformation when all shall indeed be changed in the twinkling of an eye, when the last trump of mortality is sounded3 and the immortality of the Christed one steps forth as the bridegroom at the altar of the Sacred Fire to proclaim the victory over hell and death and the merging of time into eternity.

The purposes of God are not always known to man. And yet day by day, degree by degree man comes to know the ineffable majesty of the purposes of God and how all things do indeed work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.4

You who loved him much have thought much upon his transition. I loved him, too, as you loved him. And I know of the anguish that grips the heart when a loved one departs. If only momentarily, even the most advanced disciples must feel a pang of regret, a sense of loss when the teacher is called to higher service.

How well I remember when the disciples of John the Baptist came and told me that Herod's daughter had demanded his head and that the tetrarch, out of pride in his oath before men, had forsaken his oath to God and bowed to the will of the daughter of darkness.5 For a moment in eternity I, too, was seized with a sense of loss, even though I had been prepared for that hour - even though I knew that the work of the Lord's Messenger had been accomplished and that his time had come.

This was indeed Elias come again,6 the great prophet of old who had stood on Mount Carmel to challenge the workers of iniquity and the devils they invoked,7 whom the Lord sent to the widow of Zarephath and promised her by the word of the Lord God of Israel that her "barrel of meal should not waste, neither the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth."8 And it was so.

This was Elijah, the same who cast his mantle upon me when I was embodied as Elisha. He came upon me as I was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen in the field, and immediately I followed him.9 And I vowed to him, my teacher, "As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee."10 I saw him take his mantle and wrap it together and smite the waters so that we two might walk over the Jordan on dry ground.11

He taught me the laws of alchemy and to smite the waters of the human consciousness with its astral nightmares and the defenses of the antichrist sent forth against the Light of the prophets of Israel - the same elements of the carnal mind that would challenge us again in another era, but in the same place in time and space. And he promised me that if I learned my lessons well and if my mind would become congruent with his own - "if thou see me when I am taken from thee" - that a double portion of his spirit would be upon me.12

And so when I heard of the beheading of John the Baptist, I thought upon those days of our togetherness when as the disciple of the great Master, I had seen him challenge the wickedness of the prophets of Baal, of Ahab and Jezebel, and then how I had seen him ascend in a chariot of fire13 in the glory of the ascension. And I remembered how he had promised to go before me to prepare the way14 for the lowering of the Christ Consciousness into its rightful preeminence among the sons and daughters of Israel and among all who would choose to follow that which is real.

By special dispensation from the Hierarchy, John the Baptist came forth from the ascended state to set the stage for the coming of the Christ, for the descent of the Fire of the Logos, and to initiate the spiral whereby all mankind might attain Christhood according to the example that the Father had given me to exemplify on earth as it truly is in heaven.

And so I explained to my disciples, "Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist."15 For not in ten thousand years had the dispensation been given for an Ascended Being of his level of attainment to take on physical form in a mission for the Hierarchy. And thus he truly walked the earth as the greatest of Masters, a karma-free being who laid down his life not only that I might live to fulfill the mission of the Christ, but that all who followed after might have the momentum of his mantle of purity and self-sacrifice. He lived that we might leave testimony upon the sands of time, an indelible mark in akasha of the unspeakable love that exists between guru and chela, Master and disciple.

For this is hierarchy - that the Master who attains the ultimate will give that ultimate to the one who is to succeed him in hierarchy and then in a final act of selflessness lay down his life for his disciples. The greatest desire of every teacher is that his disciple shall take up that mantle and exceed his own attainment, doing those greater works which I promised to those who would believe upon me as the incarnation of the Christ Consciousness.16 Unless the pupils excel the achievement of the teacher, unless they strive to break the records of those who have run the race before them,17 there can be no transcending universe, no expansion of God's Consciousness. This is law; and if it be broken, the spiral of infinity must be arrested.

Thus "the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."18 Not only does he lay down his life that the sheep may move on to greener pastures and greater glories, but the shepherd takes the very life-essence, the substance of his mind, and infuses the sheep with the currents of his victory. And his parting words must be "Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you."19 The shepherd teaches the sheep to assimilate his consciousness, his mastery, the momentum of his good works, so that by the leaven of his God-awareness the whole lump of their consciousness might be leavened and raised to newness of life and salvation.20

And so when I heard of the transition of John the Baptist, I departed by ship into a desert place apart.21 And there I communed with the God-identity of one whose love was so great that he laid down his life for me and for all. Now as you, one and all, contemplate the wonder of the victory as well as the sacrifice of the Messenger of God in this age, I bid you to come apart with me into a desert place to commune with the God Flame of the Prophet sent by God to prepare the way of salvation before you.

I bid you, invoke the momentum of his mantle and a double portion of his spirit, that you also might go forth to smite the waters muddied by mankind's impure consciousness. I bid you to meditate upon the purpose of his ascension that you might see that he has gone before you indeed to prepare a place for many of you who will also be called to higher service in the months and years ahead.

To those who must go on and prepare for the marriage supper of the Lamb22 and the unfoldment of opportunity for service in higher octaves, the Messenger extends a joyous welcome. But more than that, he has given his all that you might likewise attain to levels of perfection through the baptism of the Holy Ghost and of the Sacred Fire.23 And those who have vowed to bring in the age of the golden white Light he entrusts to the care of the Mother who remains with earth's evolutions to nurture the souls destined to show forth the works of Alpha and Omega. These shall reveal the transforming power of the resurrection spiral that cascades as a shimmering fountain of mother-of-pearl from the Heart of the Father-Mother God. Thus in this age the seventh ray of God's freedom shall unfold before mankind "as above, so below" the way to eternal oneness in the liberation of the Christ Consciousness.

Signs of wonder, signs of glory,
Signs of starlight in the heavens
Foretell the day when men and women
And children, one and all,
Who walk the homeward way
Shall perceive the Light of the almighty ray.

     Fires descending from the sun
Proclaim the union of the holy ones.
Arrayed in garments white and bright,
They circle the image of the Flame
And bear the banner of the Mother in God's name.
There is a sounding of a mighty gong
That lifts the veil and rights all wrong.
It is heard within the inner ear
Of all who run and who are burdened not with fear
But with the glorious Christic Light.
They carry a weight not of the world,
But of the Body of God, cosmic garment unfurled.

     Saints ascended, saints unascended
Marching in formation from the East,
Their sign the mark not of the beast,24
But of the hieroglyph of God defending.25
Their mission never-ending,
They scarcely notice the transition
From one plane to another -
So immersed in joy and service to each other
Are those who walk the homeward way,
Only stopping long enough to say
To the curious ones who gawk and stare,
Bedazzled by the intensity
Of the immensity of their devotion:
"Come Home, ye children who labor and are weary!26
Come Home, ye children who have not heard the sound
Or been thrilled by Light's immortal round.
Ceaseless knowing, ceaseless flowing
Is the way that we have chosen,
Not the darkness and the cold of concepts frozen.
Come Home, ye children of the Sun!
Come with us, and we will point the Way
Whereby you, too, shall love and live
To behold the glorious Day!"

I welcome you together with Mary the Mother and Saint Germain and the many who have gone before you who are serving here with me in the Temple of the Resurrection, the holy city that pulsates with Life abundant above the place where our victory was and is forever one.

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!"27 Our retreat stands to bear eternal witness to the Truth that we have outpictured in the world of form, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it!28

To the pure in heart, who see God in manifestation in the risen Christ,29 I send the comfort of the immaculate vision of the ascended Lanello and the entire company of the saints and Ascended Beings of all ages.

Jesus the Christ

Note: Jesus, together with Kuthumi, serves in the office of World Teacher. They serve the Cosmic Christ to expand the wisdom of the Law in behalf of the evolutions of earth. His retreat is the Resurrection Temple, located in the etheric realm over the Holy Land; he also serves in the Arabian Retreat in the Arabian Desert northeast of the Red Sea.
