Gracious ones, the mystery of races is in part one of variety, but in other aspects it is one of opportunities misused. God has created the soul of man in his own image. Dogma and confusion have surrounded this image with manifold religious and philosophical expressions. In order to find happiness, men need to understand the law of their own being in a more direct manner. They will then realize that all external manifestations stem from the use or misuse of internal energy, the energy of the soul and of the universal being of God, functioning through nature without and being within.
To misqualify energy at any time, from the soul's first going forth from God's heart to the present hour, creates the need for rebalance in the law. Men must not, then, rebel against the opportunity to make things right. On the contrary, men must welcome opportunity if they are to make progress. Victory is often won in little ways, while errors both great and small often intervene to affect mighty aspects of being in those areas of greatest import, and many times such error originates in very minor deviations of the law.
The subtle shadings of the being of man, superimposed upon the soul, masquerade as reality, but only the soul is real. So important has the facade become to many upon earth, that to please the outer manifestation, they are willing to sell their own birthright - their right to expand the soul - and become castaways from the supreme purpose. This would not be if they could see the supreme purpose in manifestation, but imperfect vision has cast this pall betwixt their own minds and the mind of Christ, "and if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."
The veil that hangs between the Holy of Holies and the holy place in man must be torn asunder by noble and determined attention. Man must press forward into the kingdom of heaven. He cannot expect, with all that God has done to provide man opportunity, and with all that man has done to ignore this opportunity, that the pinions of happiness will automatically manifest in a raising action, unless the pursuit be determined and the effort be sufficiently made on man's part.
Blessed ones, here is a very subtle reality in manifestation: Men must not delude themselves with the concept that they are acting to secure their own freedom and progress, they must hold with absolute fervor to the idea that God is acting through them to confer the greatest benefits upon them; they must yield to his will and honor it.
Our reason for making this simple statement is to clarify here and now, for the profound as well as for those who are less illumined, that midst all the varieties of life's experiences and mirrored expressions lies the great mystery of being which all must unravel for themselves, that they may know true God-happiness both in themselves and in their search.
