Beloved Who Would Purify the Temple:
The bounties of God are attainable to all who in the beauty of faith can conceive rightly of the justice of God to every lifestream. Thus, such as these cannot exclude themselves, but must enter the palace of the great King and abide in the Temple of God. Most gracious Saint Paul long ago declared, "Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" (I Corinthians 3:16) It is typical of human nature in past and present age to pay allegiance to musty concepts that do not vitalize the consciousness, simply because of the commonness of mankind's belief.
The great forerunners who have made possible spiritual achievement in every age have been men and women whose power of vision have enabled them to challenge the concepts of the mass mind and enter into the advanced thought of the Brothers of Light and the Spiritual Hierarchy. Thereby they no longer run riot in the manner of the common herd but stand as tall trees upon the hillsides and mountains of the world, exemplary spires of spiritual fortitude, content to point the way toward the untrammeled heights of holiness, which in Reality are the country of God.
Blessed Ones, if Freedom is not to be the portion of men and they are to remain bound to cycle after cycle of human struggle with all of its errant possibility, would it not be almost cause for despondency? If it were not for the gracious men and women who, by holy attunement with the Holy Spirit, have offered some ray of hope different from that of the mass consciousness, it would not be possible for mankind to break the tie that binds them to the ceaseless rounds of karma-making struggle.
The very thought of man's body being the Temple of God brings about a purification of the mind, if the consciousness will let it. There is something about a clean body, both from a physical and spiritual standpoint which attracts the Holy Spirit to dwell therein. I know full well of the wearing discouragement that sometimes comes to individuals as they enter into certain aspects of the human struggle, but conversely, I am well aware of the transfusing energies that are drawn into the body, mind and very soul fabric of man's Being by purity and cleanliness of person and consciousness.
Now I admit that we have a drive on at the present time on behalf of mankind to purify their consciousness, for there is a very definite law acting, Blessed Ones, that when any part of the Being of Man is purified, it tends to spread out and work a change through all parts of Man. When Man accepts, then, the Truth of the statement that He is the Temple of God, it will tenderly prepare him for the incoming of radiant Powers of the Holy Spirit and help him to establish a victory of the Omnipotence of God in the forcefield of his total consciousness. Therefore, I cannot urge mankind enough to accept the power generated by the acceptance of this simple statement of Beloved Paul.
When Jesus said, "Except ye become as a little child, ye cannot enter in" (see Mark 10:15 and John 3:3-5), He did not refer to he shrinking of the body or to the compressing of the consciousness back into the state of babyhood or childhood. He referred to the acceptance of great and holy Truth clothed in childlike simplicity which will enable men and women to open up the gate of acceptance in the heart and mind of their very Being to enlarge the borders of their concentration and consecration until the fertile consciousness can be impregnated with every Divine Quality which would attract the Spirit of the Immortal God.
