The Celestial Presence of Life and of Being as It manifests in the individual is the most neglected of all manifestations in Nature and in the Universe. No more holy offering has ever been given than the very privilege of Life, and it is upon this occasion, the First of May, in memory of the Beloved God of Freedom for the Earth, Saint Germain, that I, Gautama, direct the attention of the faithful to the magnificent privilege of LIFE which is given to all men.
The sustaining of existence in the manner to which many of mankind are accustomed is a perfidious denial of Reality. Yet, Life in Its Mercy and Compassion, flowing forth without ceasing from the beginning of the Ages, has made it possible for many who were bound with bonds of despair to break those bonds asunder and to attain, by various methods, a greater state of happiness and effective God-Control.
The Lord Christ, in His Palestinian Mission, so frequently declared that they that are whole have no need of a physician. Yet, today, the sin of unknowing remains the affliction of the masses who, until they themselves are in distress or despair, are frequently content to take each day as it comes, without thought for the morrow or yesterday. Were they to abide in the Mind of Christ and in the Arms of their own Deity, this attitude of mind could be most productive of good, but unfortunately they sometimes let the wondrous Truths of Life pale into insignificance beside the most trivial matters, while allowing minor incidents to be magnified as the mountains tower over the plane of Being.
Many years ago when, as Siddhartha, I wandered in the land of India, pursued by countless disciples, I thought long upon the state of the Earth; and I yearned to leave behind some thread of contact whereby men would be guided in the wonderful methods which were imparted unto Me by My own meditations upon Holy Truth. The ancient saying, "Out of one thousand, one seeks Me, and out of one thousand who seek Me, one finds Me," applied well to My own teaching. And it remains true that although many in ages past and unto the present hour have felt a kinship with the calmness of mind and yet measured passion of devotion resident within My Heart, these are scarcely a dewdrop in the vast meadow when one considers the great need among men for the splendor of Holy Truth to strip aside the veil from before men's consciousness that all the treasured flowers of infinite wonder may appear to embellish each day with the Essence of Holy Truth. Truth, Blessed Ones, is never the mere concept of man, but Truth is ever the Concept of God, which man may hear and may take into his heart until it becomes a part of himself.
The unfortunate occurrence whereby men draw delineations and categories of human reason within which to confine the Deity has no affect upon Him whatsoever; for He scattereth them with less than the movement of the little finger of His Hand. And so the idea of relativity conveys to mankind a sense of his unimportance. But I say to you all, today, just as the Christ spake of old, "Know ye not that the very hairs of your head are numbered?" I say to ye all on this day in May that there is no passing flower that does not bear the hallowed touch of God's Hand. There is no strand of person or Reality that has not contacted His Flame.
Be of Good Cheer then and know that in you the Being I AM is God.
