To Students of Holy Wisdom Who Shall Teach Men the Way -
The chastisement which, all too often, men feel for themselves in moments of self-censure is easily transferred when disapproval of another registers on the screen of consciousness. This externalization of subjective self-condemnation is known as projection; it illustrates the great law that you will never esteem God or his manifestation more than you esteem yourself.
Thus, to forget the divine origin of all Life, or any part thereof, is to fall short of the Law which always affirms, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Or, in this case, "Do unto yourself as you would do unto others - for you surely shall."1
Between embodiments and awaiting rebirth, hours upon hours pass, according to earth's standards, while teachers at inner levels pronounce and teach this sacred precept of the Golden Rule - its psychological as well as spiritual ramifications - to novitiate souls studying to show themselves approved2 in the etheric retreats of the Great White Brotherhood. These students, having failed or fallen short of the mark of the prize of regeneration in their preceding embodiments, are preparing to take upon themselves once again coats of skins3 (grosser vehicles, i.e., the four lower-vibrating bodies) to meet the challenges of life and karma in the physical octave below.
Is it not well to note again in this dissertation on Being that man stands in a twofold relationship to the Great Law? On the one hand is his relationship to God and the universal Law of Life, Love, and holy Wisdom; on the other is his relationship with man who was created in the selfsame image.
It is difficult for those yet bound in the round of rebirth to see the Whole, for they stand in the manner of one who assembles a jigsaw puzzle and has placed together but a few of the pieces composing the whole picture. This is why faith is needed. We caution that the privilege you retain at all times of rejecting spiritual concepts that seem unclear should not be exercised lightly. Rest assured that in the fullness of time the circle of understanding will be complete.
Is it not peculiar that men are so inclined to express absolute certainty concerning matters about which they know so little, while frequently expressing uncertainty about things of which they ought to know a great deal. The balancing power of Love, when it is directed to all parts of Life, is the greatest lever there is to elevate the character of man to Godhood. It has well been said, " ... Whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away; but Charity, or divine Love, never faileth."4
Think you that in extending the love of the Father to a cynical or scornful one who reviles you and flaunts the love you give, driving it back into your very teeth, you do ill? I tell you nay; for though it be far from him, he will one day remember and perhaps look for the proffered gift. By expressions of hatred and shame, men mar the surface of their own souls; by expressions of virtue and honor, they lay up in heaven a wreath of victory on behalf of all Life.5
Consider the billions of lifestreams evolving on the planet. Consider the weight of human despair and discord - the boundless fears generated daily by their uncertainties and struggles. Ask yourself: Would you add one jot or tittle of energy to this world weight (karma), to this distress, and to mankind's unhappiness?
Then mark well the golden moments as opportunities for the dispensation of grace. Let judgment remain the prerogative of the Karmic Board; they render it with good qualifications and compassion. They seal each judgment with the power of opportunity, they are ever mindful that God chastens those whom he loves, and their mercy droppeth as the gentle rain upon the souls of all who suffer the necessity of karmic judgment.
It is no imposition upon the citadel of Being to study holy Wisdom, to generate holy Love, and thus to use the God-given Power to bring forth the kingdom of heaven among men. Were the world and all that it comprises to crumble away, the tower of spiritual glory would remain forever. The annals of God, the true chronology of Being, record every virtue, every noble aspiration, every holy thought. The Angels of Record bear them to an invulnerable fortress locked in regions beyond mortal comprehension.
O Being of Man: With all thy getting, get understanding of the eternal principles!6
As your precious Kuthumi and I stand before the record of this age and ask ourselves the question, "How can we best relieve human suffering and reestablish mighty principles that will enable man, the instrument, to endure?" we recognize that in the final analysis it is the recognition and self-determination by man himself, as an individual, that sets him apart from his fellows and makes him God's man.
The records of the infamous bear common earmarks: lack of emotional control or self-discipline of one's mental forces, lack of justice toward the weak and the poor, self-centered and manipulative employment of energy, wisdom, and even the quality of love, which is turned, to satisfy the lust of the ego, upon the whim of the self-crowned potentate.
By contrast, we examine the fabric of souls who are the spiritually great in the eyes of God: kings of righteousness such as Melchizedek, king of Salem; holy men such as Elijah the prophet, the Prophet Samuel, and Daniel. We observe, too, the wisdom of those spiritually great men and women contemporary with your precious lifestreams whom we choose not to name at this moment - lest they take their reward before they have run their course.
We note in all of them the very common or uncommon quality (as you may choose to call it) of unswerving faith in the Law of Universal Love, Wisdom, and Power. We see a common reverence for Nature; we see an uncommon sense of assessment whereby self-virtue is recognized only as a reasonable sacrifice and offering.
We see no arrogant demanding for deference or favor that would set them apart from others or exalt them in their person, but only a firm, unyielding devotion to be a vessel in the hands of the Infinite One in order to convey unlimited blessings to others. The patrimony of heaven is given to such souls as these, whether you believe in them or not. Myriad angels stand before them and bow in adoration to the God flame veiled in flesh.
During my Galilean ministry I often said, "Go and sin no more;"7 I also admonished, "Go and do thou likewise."8 These Christ commands were intended to evoke a response from the mighty God-power within souls forgiven or healed.
Today I say to all: Let all proneness to human error cease! Go and sin no more! Let all virtue and wisdom and loveliness; all beauty, all courage, faith, and determination; all consecration, invocation, and adoration be raised on high in the citadel of your own Being ... and go and do thou likewise! Keep thou the faith, keep thou the courage, keep thou the determination, keep thou the holy precepts, keep thou the balance!
Though angels stand ready to bear thee up lest thou dash thy foot against the stone, yield not to one subtle temptation of that force which would tempt thee to turn aside from the path of the LORD thy God.9
Truly the LORD thy God is my God. Truly he is in me and in thee. Truly in this interchange of oneness and unity there is hope that the Holy Spirit of prophecy may fashion in newness a new generation!
Let the words be spoken of thee, "This man was in truth the Son of God."10 So proclaim, so teach, so let it be shouted from the housetops!
The antennas of the mind receive the waves of manifold vibrations today. There are vibrations of hatred, fear, and terror. There are vibrations of violence, distress, and woe. Screen them out - reject them all! They shall not provide one iota of salvation unto thee.
There are other vibrations far, far above man's poor power of perception in his present state which stem from the living fount of God's merciful heart. These speak of infinite mercy, of infinite beauty, of infinite compassion - of the dawn of a mighty civilization when the golden age shall have fully manifested.
In the matrix of the present, let all distinguish in religion those qualities which are Godlike, all-loving, all-knowing, all-perceiving the radiance of heaven. May we together breathe one heart-prayer: "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
Let there go forth, then, into manifestation, without fear, the courage to live in the consciousness of that Being which I AM, and to die to that transitory folly which in Truth I am not.
O vanity and vexation of spirit, may man forsake thee! O Father, may man find his Being in thy Oneness! That I may say of all:
"Lo, the I AM is come into manifestation on earth in the sons and daughters of God!"
I speak this in Kuthumi's love and name.
