"God Created Man in His Own Image"

Beloved Ones of Greater Light Moving toward Self-Knowledge of the Kingdom Within -

Gazing upon the reflected image of Self, most men do not perceive the reality of Being, but they are able to comprehend in part its grandiose meaning through variegated aspects of Truth. When qualified "mirrors" of spiritual ability come into being, reflecting the Spirit of Truth to the same degree of accuracy that a physical mirror images the physical self, man will have achieved a greater sense of Reality.

The carnal mind is, and ought to be recognized as, an aspect of the eternal Mind which has traduced the original intent and become the channel for the silt which churlishly meanders along the stream of time but in no way interprets to man the crystal-clear reality of his Being. To remove the impure image is the first step, then, in perceiving man's reality in Truth.

My statements concerning the necessity of regeneration spoken unto Nicodemus, which have been so frequently quoted and misquoted, convey to the elect the truth about man's internal nature: "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh"1 refers not alone to the flesh form but to that which is created by and issued forth from the carnal nature of man. That which proceeds from the spiritual nature of man in all of its mighty stream of shining perfection is the reality of each one's Divine Selfhood.

The spiritual nature of man, which is of the Being of God, can be realized only through the Mind of God. Therefore, the carnal mind does not and cannot know the Mind of God: "For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be."2

Problems of understanding arise in connection with these teachings which are inherent in the very substance of thy mortality interwoven and overlaid upon thy immortality. Identification with the outer (superficial) layers of consciousness, the mortal mind with its old familiar personality traits - identification with name, family, race, and class - tends to make men oblivious of their divine identity.

The problem of self-identification in God (to this day, some who profess belief in me as their Saviour vehemently deny that God is their own Real Self!) has to do with the fact that each of the four lower bodies - the very vehicles and faculties necessary to perceive Truth in the physical plane - has a coating of illusion that makes both the problem and the solution to the definition of Being unclear.

Alas, such is the nature of the carnal mind (as it stains the four lower bodies with the dye of nonidentification with the living God), from which the soul must be rescued by the living Christ! O my beloved, do take pity upon the poor souls buried under a heap of carnal illusion spawned by the mass media and the educational systems - saturating the thinking/feeling/memory process of an entire generation!

Now, when I said, "The poor ye have with you always,"3 I was in no way limiting access to the abundant Life that is available in the universe to every man who will reach out his hand and partake of the waters of Life freely.

I referred to the fact that men and women of the carnal sense are always in the process of shedding that sense - the impoverished sense of material life - for the abundant Life of God. And until they complete the process, they remain poor in both the spiritual and material things of life. (I also referred to the fact that someone always occupies the lowest rung on the karmic ladder; therefore, the poorest of the poor will remain an economic category as well as a spiritual one, just as there is always someone at the top and the bottom of the graduating class.)

The world is no different today - except that there has been a proliferation of both the rich and the poor, increasing the demand for shepherds to feed my sheep and ministering servants to heal both states of consciousness, for the rich as well as the poor have need to be healed of their false belief concerning their true identity.

When I said, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven,"4 I referred to the fact that those who are poor in the 'spirit' of the material sense are usually less encumbered by the things of this world and more ready to accept the spiritual sense. (I also referred to the vacuum created by the spiritually impoverished sense that must be filled with the knowledge of the kingdom of heaven, the state of being not empty but full with the Spirit.)

I should like to call to the attention of my students the statements which I made concerning John the Baptist and those which he made concerning me.

John declared, "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear. He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire."5

Of John, I spake and said, "Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist; notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he."6 Obviously, beloved ones, John the Baptist himself was in the kingdom of heaven (i.e., caught up in the consciousness of the Spirit) and therefore the great maxim included him also.

To understand my words correctly, it must be seen that they applied only to the outer sense of John the Baptist; although he was the greatest ever born of women and greater, yet this material sense did not yield the spiritual sense of his own immortality. The inner spiritual sense, then, of "the least in the kingdom of heaven" is greater than the outer material sense of anyone on earth.

He said of me, "He must increase, but I must decrease,"7 thus affirming the need for every man to increase his Christ consciousness and decrease his carnal sense.

I make this distinction today for a very urgent reason. Down through the centuries theologians and holy seekers have seldom, if ever, been able to clarify for themselves or the brethren the difference between the immortal, altogether lovely and perfect God Self of man and his human creation.

My statement "The Son of man is come to save that which was lost"8 denotes that a part of man has strayed from the intended God-design. That part is the soul which by free will chose to try on the various costumes of the carnal logic - and then by enchantment with its glamour, style, and look, did not strip off those garments! Did not prefer the purity of the temple attire! Inasmuch as that which strayed, then, could not, by definition, remain the reflection of the altogether lovely and perfect divine image of God (for it chose not to), it follows that that which has partaken of error is the consciousness of the soul-manifestation (personality) which allowed its energy to flow into patterns of imperfection.

This mere misqualification has become a form of temporal reality to those who believe in the materiality of sense manifestation - and will defend it with their very (material sense of) life. Those who have identified with the human self-misqualification for so long - spanning millions of years of the false belief in mortality, embodiment after mortal embodiment - have for the same time/space stretch persistently ignored the mighty possibility of the great Divine Self.

Why? As you observe the psychology of those to whom you minister, beloved, consider if it is not the defense mechanism of the carnal mind that must preserve the elaborate security system of lies and luring self-delusions in which it has wrapped (and mummified) that lost soul! And, I pray you, have compassion!

The Christ of every man is the Great Mediator between the perfection of God, the Divine Self, and the marred or 'fallen' (i.e., lowered in frequency and vibration) soul image which has become the focal point for the repetition of his human creation, round upon round. It is therefore this image - this self-indoctrinating image allowed by a blinded free will - which must be redeemed and purified so that the soul may once again pattern its works after the perfect image of Christ.

This Christ can be reinstated in the four lower bodies by a cry for help and the act of free will that at last bids welcome to the Real Self. That cry for liberation from the tyranny of the carnal mind is the distress signal that sets in motion the forces of the Great White Brotherhood - the armies of The Faithful and True.9 It is the call which compels the answer, beloved, of my Christ, your Christ. And you can give it right now.

With the Chart of Your Divine Self before you, face the Supreme Ruler of the Universe, thy God, and affirm with all thy heart in a loud voice: "The Light of God never fails! The Light of God never fails! The Light of God never fails! And the Beloved Mighty I AM Presence is that Light!" Repeat this call four times, expelling the carnal mind from each of your four lower bodies as you do. And accept your freedom and your reality by the authority of the Christ who I AM, who You Are - with you now!

Congratulations! You have begun the redemptive process. The process of redemption is one in which the energies woven into the garment of self in misunderstanding and misqualification are painstakingly undone by the supplicant soul under the direction of the Holy Spirit. The energies of error coalesced around the marred image producing imperfect patterns in the four lower bodies must be released into the pure stream of God's consciousness and transmuted by the fires of trial and purification.10

The energies you restore to their original polarity each day by the science of the spoken Word are ready to be invested into a new creation - like the clay which the potter uses over and over again. Thus, the 'repolarized' energy is spun as golden light substance from the Son (Sun) of God into the seamless garment of the living Christ. Thus, dual man, as the son of manifestation and as the Son of God, is reinvested with his Real Image and is become one Reality!

To communicate this divine idea, this teaching of his Real Self to the natural man, wedded as he is to his false image, is 'naturally' most difficult. Teleological, theological, and psychological factors relating to his cherished sense of self arise in man's consciousness to speak to him of outer things and to impart to him a false idea of the very dominion with which God has endowed him.

He feels wholly qualified to judge and, rightfully so, does not assign to another the task of choosing this day whom he will serve.11 His identification with the material sense and self is often so complete that he finds it very difficult - and let every teacher understand this - to accept the science of that Being, that 'Oversoul' which is invisible to his outer senses.

This is why I spake unto Thomas as he thrust his fingers into the nail prints in my hand and his hand into the spear wound in my side, saying: "Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed; blessed are they who have not seen and yet have believed."12

The demands which men make of the Law to perform a cosmic miracle are very great; albeit those who are able to absorb by the power of great faith in God the holy perfection of their own Being - without demanding the expenditure of heaven's energy in creating miraculous (or so-called miraculous) manifestations - are the more advanced disciples. These use the spiritual eye to identify spiritual substance rather than the material eye or empirical evidence to confirm or prove spiritual Truth.

The Great Law of man's Being is "Because Thou art, I AM." Without the identity of God, all Life would cease to be. God is Life and this is the greater Truth encompassing the lesser manifestation. To say that Life is God, while true, is problematical unless the life that is expressed by man be the Life which God created.

The outer form is only Godly, then, when it expresses divine qualities: man himself is only a manifestation of God when he is expressing Godly attributes. His identity is God's only when he self-identifies with God through words and works identical to God's. And this is possible, else I would not have commanded my own, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as [in a like manner as] your Father in heaven is perfect!"13

The statements I made to other men which caused some to shudder and do so to the present day - "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. ... Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?"14 - referred to the Great Law in action, the Word who judges every man according to his own word and work and the motives, intents, thoughts, and feelings behind them. These true expressions of self which reveal what a man thinketh in his heart identify in turn his will as it aligns either with the carnal nature of deified evil or with the nature of the Deity Himself and His righteousness in action.

Listen not to the proud talkers boasting about, but observe their doings. Indeed, what do they do to merit eternal Life? And then observe those whose words (except for their perpetual prayer15) are few but whose acts of compassion - enlightening, healing, and liberating souls - are many.

Thus, in the end, as in the beginning, man condemns himself to his imperfect image or justifies himself in the image of God - by the quality of his heart - revealed vibrationally in his own words and his works. This teach, lest the unwary fall by the wayside and lose the prize.

As the earth shall be full of my knowledge,16 so the Law of Righteousness shall follow those who pursue it. Men are not here to judge or to criticize one another, but to judge (ascertain) that they themselves do not cast a stumbling block in another's pathway. This they may forestall by recognizing the perfection of their own Being and giving preeminence to its expression while extolling the same possibility for their fellow creatures. By so teaching and imbibing this cup of Life which is God, my disciples shall commune forever with the kingdom of our Father.

Lovingly, I AM your elder brother,

Jesus
